Intensive Clinical Skills Training (ICST) is intended for health professionals from a range of disciplines who want to acquire the basic skills required to adopt the cognitive behavioural approach. Participants most likely to benefit include nurses, doctors, social workers, occupational therapists, trainee psychologists, counsellors and graduate mental health workers. Practitioners from other fields will be considered on an individual basis. All participants must have: (a) a current clinical placement where they will be able to practice the skills learned in workshops, & (b) access to appropriate clinical supervision.
The workshops in Intensive Clinical Skills Training (ICST) build on each other. Hence in PHASE I of the programme participants must attend workshop 1 prior to attending workshop 2. Participants that have attended both workshops of PHASE I may attend any of the workshops in PHASE II.
